Maintenance will cost you everything
After about 100,000 miles all European cars begin to have endless problems. I could name a few but they all start leaking oil. For instance, BMW has an oil housing that is a motor mount bracket, and it takes hours to replace a $3.00 O-ring. After about 2003-2005 automotive car companies started thinking about making more money off of their customers. Anything to make things more complex and they planned for better obsolescence. Vehicles will no longer be easy to repair.
Endless sensors
The European cars were the first one to come out with radar sensors and parking assists and adaptive head lights. Radar sensers are very expensive to calibrate and replace. Any little bump or fender bender could cost you thousands. Not to mention the sensors inside. The heated seats steering wheel position heated steering wheels all kinds of electronics that go bad over time and the cars has many computers. All this will cost you. even if you get the car at a good deal.
It is possible to save some money.
Of course, you can always scour the junk yards. different companies to find secondhand parts but you will be taking a chance if you have them shipped from somewhere else and because they luxury cars they may want more money for them then the average car and depending on the part that breaks if is something with a defect in the car it's possible that everybody will have scavenged the parts on many of the salvaged car. One last thing is on a used part if it needs to be configured to the vehicle computer or module it may not to your vehicle because it must be a fresh part with no memory on it from another vehicle configure.
Hard to get parts.

Sometimes no one stocks anything for these cars. Parts can be very hard to come by. You even have to order parts from Germany as they are not a lot of aftermarket suppliers that will work or if thy sell you a part it may not always work right or last. E
very little thing that happens can make your life hard. If you are unfamiliar with these vehicles and lack the knowledge and equipment to fix them and diagnose them properly.
