The Nissan Versa

Although cheap and know to be the cheapest subcompact on the market It come with its draw backs. To name a few it comes with cheaper material. Such as weather stripping on the doors. In the mechanic shop and body shops they are known to fall off in the back door jams on top. The compony Nissan is known to cut corners. The clips they used to hold whether striping is known to fall off. It can be annoying if it starts raining.

Creaking seats

When you get into the car and sit in the seat. You will notice a creaking sound sometimes. The metal they used for some of the models is known to make noise. Sometimes even a buzzing sound because of the vibration of the metal. Inside of the compartment the engine noise is known to penetrate inside the cabin. There for when driving. You will hear the sound of the road and any bumps you may in counter on the road. Because of the size of the car, it will feel stiff and uncomfortable.

Annoying malfunction lights

If you hit the front of the bumper hard enough. It will bend the radar sensor bracket in front of the bumper. If you hit a deep pothole, it will also bend the Rader sensor bracket.

It can cost you as the bumper cover sometimes must come off. Sometimes the mass air flow sensor goes bad. This can be due to a few factors. 1 sometimes the air filter gets dirty and can cause the sensor to act up. 2 sometimes the throttle body builds up carbon and acts up and makes the sensor act up. You must clean it. 3 some of the sensors are faulty. When this happens, the car will not idle.

Bad ABS modules

The ABS modules were manufactured by Hitachi. Either Nissan skipped out on paying Hitachi or some kind of manufacturing flaw. These modules are known to go bad especially brand-new ones. It can cost you at least $1000.00 just for the part. When replacing this part, the brakes must be bled, and special software must be used to reprogram the computer.

Cheap engine support frames

If you are ever in an accident, you can easily bend the engine frame, and it will require replacement costing thousands. Also motors mounts that wear out can cause exhaust problems causing the exhaust manifold to crack. Because of excessive movement. Once again causing an expensive repair.

My final thoughts

If you're in the market for a cheap sedan I would stay away from Nissan. They deliberately make it difficult for the home mechanic to fix. The parts are overly expensive, and you will be at the dealer over and over again.
