Recall issues

The ford F-150 comes in two variations and many trim options but the two basic motors it comes with are the 2.7 and 3.5 eco-boost. Depending on the year you have a cam phaser problem, which is a labor-intensive operation and requires the front of the motor to come apart. Also, during the years of those recalls. The type of parts that failed would be put back on those vehicles ranging from 50,000 to 150,000 miles the cam phaser issues are a known issue with the 3.5and 2.7. They are also known for leaking oil pans and leaking Transmisson pans.
Expensive repairs
Some of the older F-150s are known to have bad oil fowlers almost like a rocker arm with bearings. Also, internal water pumps with plastic gears are known to leak inside the motor. Some of the turbos are known to go out especially if you skip on your oil changes. Once a motor has sludge. it's incredibly difficult to clean you may as well get another motor. Engine sludge is a turbo killer. so be careful with your oil changes on your 2.7 and 3.5. EcoBoost engines are direct injection. Thay suffer from carbon buildup. So, they will require the valves and pistons to be cleaned.
Ford will sell you a lemon!
In addition to engine problems ford has been having problems with their valves fracturing and causing catastrophic engine failure. This is a problem that has been present in the broncos, F-150 and Ford explorer. Though the issue with the valve has been resolved months after the 2022 production there are still many vehicles out there that will have catastrophic engine failure. Around 300 to 10000 miles the problems a occurs.
Horrible crash test ratings and final thought.
Around 2015 the Ford F-150 had used an aluminum body some of the cab sixes especially the short ones crumpled under severe impact. So be careful on the year you buy because the crash test rating might not be so good. My final thought on the F-150 they are very complicated to fix,
and they suffer from a lot of electrical issues and recalls so my advice is if you buy a ford make sure you buy a F-250 with an 8-cylinder motor
